Catalogue Note
A plate from the same service, also painted with an unidentified figure, is in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, museum no. C. 1735-1919. Another, with a portrait of Apollo, was sold at Christie's Rome, March 10, 1977, lot 269. A somewhat similar plate with a simpler border incorporating four inscribed cameo medallions is illustrated in Angela Caròla-Perrotti, Le Porcellane dei Borbone di Napoli, Capodimpnte e real Fabbrica Ferdinandea 1743-1806, p. 392, cat. no. 320.
