octagonal molded top opening to reveal a compartmentalized interior with lead liners.
Condition
In good restored condition. Later handles. Repolished. Brass with some denting, verdigris, rubbing, and discoloration. Beneath lock, brass banding has a 1/4 section lacking. A 1 inch section of brass band patched to back side. Mahogany at hinges with a patch to section above upper brass banding from previous break. Molding to interior of lid is slightly loose and lifting; recommend securing. Most of glue blocks now lacking. Old wood worm to underside. Three losses to sides of upscrolled toes (about 1 inch loss). Other small chips to carving. All legs with old holes to inside, lacking stretcher.
