Condition
Base of desk adapted and later. Carlton House desk superstructure possibly with legs, now cut to sit on base. One drawer replaced; with "WM Blair Ltd." sticker to back and lock marked Double Lever. Some of the backs of the drawers have replacements. Some minor replacements to mahogany, particularly to drawer fronts. Ebony line decoration to drawers and some other elements painted rather than inlaid ebony. Some patching to veneers. Trefoil carving to left side of base with a break but stable. Some sun fading. Bruises, scratches, and chips consistent with use and age. Later leather lining is removable-reveals leather bookstand beneath.
