Condition
There are some occasional minor scratches to the enamels consistent with use and two small areas where the glaze has been worn off, as evident in the catalogue illustration.

Various wares similarly painted with floral sprays in green camaïeu in the workshop of James Giles are illustrated in Gerald Coke, In Search of James Giles (1718-1780), pp. 176-177, figs. 4 and 5. Another similar plate from the Turner Collection, also attributed to James Giles, was sold at Parke-Bernet Galleries, April 28, 1970, lot 223.
