Condition
In country house condition.
The ceramic:
Inspected within its mounts. The ewer with a circa 5.5cm hairline rim crack on the exterior (faintly visible on the interior) and a shorter glaze hairline next to it. There is other glaze crazing around the underside of the handle and the lower body of the ewer. The cover has a crack running almost from one end to another, there are extensive rim chips. General minor glaze firing imperfections and surface scratches.
The mounts:
Overall the mounts are tarnishing, the gilding it rubbed and the would benefit from a clean according to taste. The mount fixing the lid and the body is loose and need to be re-pinned. One leg is bent slightly out of shape.
