- Relief with three sleeping putti

Condition
Overall the condition of the marble is good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few chips, notably to two of the putti's toes on one foot respectively, and one of the putti's proper right index finger. There are also minor chips and abrasions to the outer edge of the oval relief. There are a few dirt marks, notably to the edge and to the limbs of the putto in embryo position. There are several small naturally occurring inclusions to the marble.

Catalogue Note
This captivating marble derives from a composition in the Galleria Borghese, which is considered to be an anonymous work from the 16th or 17th century, possibly after the antique. Another version of the same subject is in the Palazzo Pitti in Florence.
