Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Joints sound and sturdy. Attractive model. Old minor marks, chips and scratches commensurate with age and normal usage. Evidence of old minor worm which appears to be no longer active. The seat-rails have been strengthened underneath, Both chairs have a stencilled initial NFT. Hairline construction cracks at joints which are normal and can be left. One chair is incised under the seat-rail V and another incised VI. There is variation in the carving in the flowers on the top-rail and seat-rail.These are a matched pair. The single chair looks 20th century with a caned back, loose cushion seat with hairline construction cracks at joints and it is more white in colour than the rest with details picked out in pink and green and the frame is carved with roses to match one of the pair.
