- A group of green hardstone objects of vertu, various origins, late 19th/20th century
- malachite, gilt metal
comprising: a rectangular malachite-veneered jewel casket lined with quilted pink silk, 11 cm., 4 1/4 in.; a bowl formed from a natural malachite fragment, 14 cm., 5 1/2 in.; a string of malachite worry beads; a greenstone-handled letter opener with gilt-metal mount and blade, ; and a pair of slender mottled green hardstone dishes of elongated oval form, 15 cm., 6 in.
Condition
Casket: some old restoration to lid and some segments of veneer lacking mainly on feet and lid;
Letter opener blade worn and bent at tip
