Catalogue Note

A large size model of a pheasant hen and three chicks was modelled by J. J. Kändler in 1735. A figure of a pheasant was also adapted to serve as a knop on the cover of a soup tureen in the 'Hanbury-Williams' service in the collection of the Duke of Northumberland, Alnwick Castle, see Cassidy-Geiger, 2007, p. 273, nos. 12-12.
