Peekskill Military Academy was founded in 1833.  Before it closed in 1968, the New York Jets - including Joe Namath - used the Academy and its playing field as a summer training camp.

The stiff-armed stance of the player is very similar to that on the Heisman trophy; however that famous piece, by sculptor Frank Eliscu, was first presented at the conclusion of the 1935 college season.
