Catalogue Note

This bowl was almost certainly made for Fabergé; Stefan Väkevä (1833-1910) established his own workshop in 1865; in the late 1870s, he contracted to provide silver exclusively to Gustav Fabergé (1814-1893). Carl Fabergé continued the relationship, working with Väkevä's children until 1917.
