Condition
This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of light wear and handling along the edges which has resulted in very minor pinpoint spots of loss at the corners. The colors are bright, fresh and clean. The canvas is slightly loose on its stretcher. Under very close inspection, there is a spot accretion at the top of the dollar sign and along the lower left edge. Under raking light, faint stretcher bar marks are visible along the top and bottom and some very faint radial and vertical hairline craquelure is visible in the center and left side of the dollar sign. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, there are a few spots that fluoresce brightly in each corner and there are a few light and unobtrusive abrasions that fluoresce lightly but do not appear to be the result of restoration. Framed.

Catalogue Note
"I like money on the wall. Say you were going to buy a $200,000 painting. I think you should take that money, tie it up, and hang it on the wall. Then when someone visited you, the first thing they would see is the money on the wall."
