Condition

This work is in very good and sound condition overall. The red glitter abounds the surface of the work and can come loose, inherent to the artist's chosen medium. This has resulted in minor losses to the glitter, most notably on the leaves, revealing the underlying layer of color. The surface is bright and fresh. There are scattered pinpoint accretions and light surface soiling throughout the sculpture. Please note that this work is accompanied by a registration card issued by the Yayoi Kusama Studio.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note

"My aggregation sculpture is a logical development of everything I have done since I was a child. It arises from a deep, driving compulsion to realize in visible form the repetitive image inside of me." Yayoi Kusama
