  • fully marked on coolers and liners, one collar with maker's mark and lion passant, the other collar apparently unmarked

openwork sides applied with grapevine swags hung from baccante masks, the bases engraved with two crests, detachable openwork collar and gilt liner

Catalogue Note

A pair of wine coolers by Preedy with nearly identical bases was owned by Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland, the fifth son of George III and Queen Charlotte. They were sold Sotheby's, New York, March 16, 2012, lot 183.
