Condition
Overall in fair condition and presentation with the usual minor hairline scratches and minute nicks to carcass consistent with age and use. Losses of gilding in places revealing gesso or bare wood. Several areas of gilding show the bole. One console is missing half of the leaf garland and the respective swag on its proper right hand side. The marble with the usual light scratches consistent with placing objects, and minor chips to the edges.

Catalogue Note
Léon Dromard (active third quarter 19th century) was recorded in Paris at 18, rue Saint-Lazare between 1874 and 1889. Following the closure of its workshop, two auctions were held on April 11 and 12, 1889. A carved walnut and gilt decorated cabinet is currently in the permanent collection of the Musée d’Orsay, Paris.
