Catalogue Note
The arms with twenty quarterings are those of Lewis of St. Pierre, co. Monmouth, descended from Philip Llewellyn, second son of Llewellyn, lord of St. Clair and Tredegar, from Cadicos Prince of Divet, co. Pembroke (temp. William I). Here they are for Charles Lewis, Esq. of St. Pierre (d. 1840), one of the seven sons of Morgan Lewis and Rachel Van. The house, a 14th century manor, is now a hotel and golf club.
