Description

  • approximately 532 by 479cm; 17ft 5in, 15ft 9in.
the ivory ground with a repeating design of delicate ribbon vinery and tracery, stylised flower sprigs in dark teal blue and crimson, borders removed

Condition

Fragmentary carpet, the borders removed, with corner section inserted, composed of two pieces, section damaged along edge, repaired split. Edges turned under and bound with Cowtan and Sons cloth tape on reverse. (Cowtan and Sons were a London decorating firm active from 1790-1959). Full pile, area of staining, some old moth damage, colour has run in the turquoise blue in areas.
