Catalogue Note
The Moresque style was popular in all forms of decorative arts and architecture at this date. Examples of French pottery of similar form and decoration were exhibited by Mansard at the Great Exhibition of 1851 and the style was even more prevalent in Bohemian glass and Zuloaga's damascened steel at the Exhibition of 1862.
