the first cartouche-form, the lid inlaid in mother of pearl and gold piqué point with tribute to an Eastern potentate, reeded silver mounts, unmarked; the second rectangular, encrusted in silver piqué posé et point with the Toilet ofVenus, both Naples, circa 1730, 8 cm., 3 1/4 in.; and a rectangular box pressed with the head of Apollo on a sunray ground, silver-gilt lining, maker's mark rubbed, France, 1819-1838, 9cm., 3 1/2 in.

First: wear and small chip to base, restoration to mother of pearl on lid;
Second, chips and losses throughout;
third: right hand top of lid back missing; back and base seams separated
