the first, French or English, circa 1780, ivory with gold piqué point decoration reading l'Amitie [friendship], 8cm, 3 1/8 in; the second, A.J. Strachan, London, 1824, engine-turned gold, 5.8cm., 2 3/8 in.; the third, Irish, circa 1825, of oblong form, gold-mounted bog oak, engraved with an Erse inscription and applied with a shamrock set with foiled crystals, 7.2cm., 3 7/8 in.
