Catalogue Note
Launched in 1906 as part of the flagship of the China Station before the First World War and after an unsuccessful search for the German Easy Asia Squadron, HMS Minotaur was transferred to the Grand Fleet at the end of 1914, having cost £1,410,356 to build. She was christened in 1907 by the Countess of Crewe and subsequently escorted the royal yacht Victoria and Albert from Kiel to Reval when King Edward VII and his wife visited Russia the following year.
