The body composed of a cultured freshwater pearl, the hair and legs decorated with brilliant-cut diamonds, signed, inscribed 'Grande Jeté', numbered, British hallmarks for London, accompanied by fitted case.
Exhibited
This brooch was exhibited at the 'Pearls' exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum between September 2013 and January 2014 and was featured on on of the exhibition post cards and in several publications as one of the highlights of the exhibition.
Condition
Signed G W Rowlandson, numbered GB034, maker's mark. British hallmarks for 18 carat gold, London, 1999. Inscribed, 'Grande Jeté'. Pearl of cream body colour with rosé and green overtones, damage to the lower half where the pearl has been fractured and restored with glue. Diamonds bright and lively. Some scratches and tarnish to metal consistent with wear. In good condition. Accompanied by fitted case with an engraved plaque, 'Grande Jeté', 'Designed by Geoff Rowlandson'.
