Claw-set with an oval ruby within a frame of marquise-shaped diamonds, size Q1/2, indistinctly signed Cartier, case stamped Cartier.

Condition

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US. This piece may contain rubies of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin will be required before import of rubies into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewelery department for further information. Accompanied by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory report no. 11621, stating that the ruby is of Burmese origin, with no evidence of heat treatment. Accompanied by a letter from Cartier, dated 1968 and a drawing from Cartier. Indistinctly signed Cartier due to wear. Ruby weighing approximately 4.44 carats of purplish red colour, surface reaching flaw to one side near to a claw, typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, transparent. Total diamond weight approximately 1.00-2.50 carats, estimated colour G-I, estimated clarity VS on average. Abrasions and scratches consistent with wear.
