• 16’’’ aluminum lever movement, 17 jewels, precision regulator • silvered dial, applied silver Breguet numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds • ultralight aluminum case, snap on case back engraved with dedication • case, dial and movement signed

Condition

Movement running at time of cataloging, however not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Case in fair condition with some scuffing to the back, light scratches overall. Dial in very good condition, small mark at the 3 second mark above the subsidiary dial, small nick under the V in Vacheron. Movement with light scratches.

Vacheron & Constantin launched production of aluminum watches in 1938, and produced nearly 300 examples over the next decade. The present lot bears the inscription To Ottis E. Colling By Aluminium Ltd 1946, as it was common practice for these aluminum watches to be given as awards for years of service in the aluminum industry.
