Condition

Movement running at time of cataloging, however not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Case in fair condition with wear to the edges on the lugs, light scratches overall, scuffing, case back with monogram: E.C.D. All wear consistent with daily use. Dial with light restoration, some discoloration notably at 9 o'clock. Patina to the indexes. Movement with light loss of finish.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming the monogram to the case back and the date of sale on October 4, 1943.

The present model, Ref. 1450, is referr꧒ed to as the 'Top Hat' for the banded ends of its distinctive case shape. Just as many of the now-illustrious vintage rectangu🙈lar shape watches, the case for the 'Top Hat' was made by Markowski.
