• gilt brass movement, platform escapement, repeating on two gongs • white enamel dial, Breguet numerals, pierced hands • bezel overlaid with opaque white enamel with eight divisions • silver rectangular case composed of agate, the borders heightened by transparent green enamel over guilloché outlined in white enamel (some losses and restoration), the top and bottom with white enamel banding with gilt foliate motif, the corners and repeat pusher accented by cabochon sapphires • dial signed Cartier, movement signed Nocturne, case and movement with hand-stamped reference numbers
Condition
The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. It is chiming in phase. Accompanied by a key which works but is numbered 1816.
The movement is hand-stamped with reference numbers 602. The bottom of the case is hand-stamped with reference numbers 216 and 1210, nearly illegible now, and engraved, in an entirely different and large font, Paris 151. The feet are somewhat uneven, causing the clock to stand mostly on three feet. There are spots of loss and restoration to the enamel, mostly just the opaque white enamel. On the front agate panel, to the viewer's right of 3:00, there is a chip to the agate at the edge.
