• gilt lever platform escapement, 13 jewels, repeating on two gongs with two hammers • silvered dial, turquoise-set baton, dot and geometric applied indexes, stylized diamond-set hands, inner track with diamond-set indications at 5-minute intervals, subsidiary dial for alarm with arrow-form hand • massive rectangular case, the top composed of ribbed and polished 14k gold in gadroons, minute repeating pusher to the top applied with turquoise, all atop a stepped gold base, the hinged back opening to reveal winding and setting apertures, fitting to hold key, and strike choice for quarters, silent, and hours and quarters • case and dial signed Cartier, movement signed Couaillet Frères, backplate signed European Watch & Clock Co., Inc. and hand-stamped with Cartier reference numbers
Condition
Movement running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Chiming in phase. Case with wear and light scratches overall, slight denting to the base at the front center and corner. Dial with light scratches and spotting. Backplate stamped 3289, and 20784, and the movement stamped 20784.
