Condition

Fair and stable overall condition. Abrasions and rubbing to pigment all along edges of the image, particularly at the four corners are clearly visible in catalog illustration. Further rubbing to black pigment in the area of the sky. Slight staining to the face of lady seated on left. This lot is exhibited in a temporary frame.

A nayika and her sakhi.  The scrolling floral arabesque design in the lower panel is a characteristic feature of Amarusataka illustrations executed in the second half of the Seventeenth Century at Malwa.  See previous lot note for details about the series.
