Catalogue Note

A remarkable crimson-red tantric vision of Hanuman looks directly at us. His central gold crowned head in brilliant red, with white fangs and hair. The heads of Garuda / Hayagriva / Varaha and Simha peer in all directions to battle the forces of evil. His rotating arms bear the attributes and weapons of Shiva. He holds a giant red plowshare. Hanuman in a Panchanana (five-headed) incarnation as the terrifying Hanu-Bhairava who stands menacingly against a vibrant yellow background with hints of green earth and blue sky above.

In the second illustration Kubera the Lord of Wealth appears with platters of golไd, silver coins and other treasures.
