Description

  • emerald, sapphire, diamond, gold
Each suspending an oblong emerald bead, to a surmount set with a cabochon sapphire, connected by a cushion-shaped diamond weighing 1.03 and 1.02 carats respectively, the emeralds and sapphires altogether weighing approximately 52.00 and 12.00 carats respectively, mounted in 18 karat white gold.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to AGL report, the two sapphires are natural, of Burmese origin, with no indication of heating. Two emeralds are also natural, of Zambian origin, with indications of moderate clarity enhancement. GRS report also states that the two emeralds are natural, of Zambian origin, with indications of minor clarity enhancement. Two cushion diamonds, according to GIA reports, are D and E colours, VS1 and Internally Flawless clarity respectively. Please refer to the reports for details. In our opinion, the two tumbled sapphires are matching, of intense blue colour; two emeralds are of medium strong green hue. All these coloured stones are moderately included to naked eyes. Upon 10x loupe, there are natural inclusions and some are surface reaching with a few tiny surface openings, but all surface features are not noticeable to naked eyes. Condition: Karat white gold mounts, in very good condition.

Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
