Description

  • conch pearl, pink sapphire, diamond, gold
Of peacock motif, centring on a conch pearl weighing 9.80 carats, to a stylized mount pavé-set with circular-cut diamonds, highlighted by brilliant-cut pink sapphires, the diamonds and pink sapphires together weighing approximately 3.40 and 1.60 carats respectively, mounted in 18 karat white and yellow gold. Ring size: 5½

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to GIA report, the conch pearl is natural, saltwater pearl, with no indication of treatment. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the conch pearl is of ovoid-shape, medium light pink colour, with surface flame pattern upon illumination or loupe check, porcelain lustre. Pink sapphires are matching, of vivid purplish pink colour, eye clean and lively brilliance. Diamonds are about G to I colours, mostly VS clarity. Condition: Karat white and pink gold ring mount, in very good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by GIA report numbered 7172386645, dated 15 May 2014, stating that the 9.80 carat conch pearl is natural saltwater pearl, with no indications of treatment.
