Of geometric design, set with baguette and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.70 carats; circa 1930.
Condition
In good condition with some light wear to the mounting and very minor tarnish to the pinstem on the reverse, not evident when worn. The diamonds are approximately G-I color, predominantly VS clarity. Length of pin approximately 1 5/8 inches.

Catalogue Note
According to the consignor, the present lot was owned by George Fitzmaurice, renowned Hollywood director. Born in Paris, Fitzmaurice came to the United States in the mid 1900s and quickly became a director after working in theater as a set designer. Fitzmaurice worked within a number of genres; one of his best known romantic dramas was The Son of the Sheik, Rudolph Valentino's last film. In the 1930s Fitzmaurice directed the Colman comedies (including Ruffles and The Devil to Pay) as well as dramas starring Greta Garbo, including Mata Hari, As You Desire Me and The Last of Mrs. Cheyney.
