The tops centering two carved coral skulls, within frames set with triangle-shaped citrines and garnets, suspending two mabé pearls measuring approximately 20.3 by 15.0 mm, accented by round diamonds weighing approximately 3.30 carats, signed Tony Duquette; pendants detachable.
Condition
The mountings in good condition. The coral skulls are a medium-light peach color, one with subtle veining, the other significantly color zoned. Both skulls with drill holes to the craniums, suggesting their previously being used as pendants. Significant polyp holes and fissures throughout the coral capturing dark detritus, enhancing their "straight from the ocean" appeal. The citrines are a lively medium slightly brownish orange and eye-clean. The garnets are a deep brownish red and eye-clean. The silvery light gray mabé pearls present moderate purple, green and blue overtones, moderately wrinkled skins, and a satin-like luster. One pearl is backed by a colorless filler, possibly chalcedony or a man-made substance, the other pearl is backed by a black filler, possibly onyx, trimmed by a hardstone with spectral colors, possibly labradorite. The diamonds are approximately G-H color, VS clarity. Fitted with retractable posts. Lengths approximately 3 inches.
