Description
- TONY DUQUETTE
- gold, coral, diamond, enamel
Centering a carved coral skull, within an openwork mounting set with round diamonds weighing approximately 1.95 carats, highlighted with black enamel, size 6½, signed Tony Duquette.
Condition
In good condition with gentle surface wear to the gold, primarily to the underside of the shank. Minor porosity seen under magnification. Several areas of enamel loss exposing the gold ground as well as evidence of previous enamel repair. Purchaser may wish to consider re-enameling the ring in its entirety (referrals in New York can be provided by Jewelry Department). The medium-light peach colored coral skull with significant white veining; areas of breakage as well as discoloration to polyp holes and cavities, all enhancing the macabre nature of the piece. The diamonds are approximately G-H color, VS clarity.
