Centering an oval-shaped cabochon purple star sapphire weighing 28.96 carats, flanked by tapered baguette diamonds weighing approximately .70 carat, size 8¾.

Condition

In very good condition. The purple sapphire is semi-transparent, deep slightly reddish purple and eye-clean. The star is moderately strong and a bit off-center, but all of the legs are straight. The underside of the cabochon exhibits a significant surface reaching fracture, but the fracture is not evident when the ring is worn nor does it affect the stability of the stone.The tapered baguette diamonds are approximately G-H color, VS clarity. Fitted with an expandable shank. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 64457 stating that the sapphire is of Ceylon origin, with indications of low temperature heating.
