Description
- Buccellati
- gold, pearl, diamond, emerald
Designed as a flower, centering a mabé pearl measuring approximately 15.2 by 15.2 mm, accented by round, rose and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.15 carats, the leaves further accented by round emeralds, gross weight approximately 23 dwts, signed Gianmaria Buccellati Italy.
Condition
In good condition. The pearl is almost conical in shape with a silvery white body color, moderate rose and green overtones and very good luster. There is some minor ringing towards the top of the pearl but otherwise the skin is smooth and free of blemishing. The rose-cut diamonds are near colorless and decorative in quality and the round diamonds are approximately G-H color, VS clarity. The emeralds are medium green and moderately included, most exhibit surface reaching fractures and a few of the emeralds have small chips and surface abrasions that are not visible with the naked eye. There are a few areas where the brooch seems to have been repaired, by the pin catch, where one of the "stems" is attached to one of the leaves and on a few of the prongs. The repairs to the prongs are not visible when the brooch is worn and the other repairs are limited to the reverse of the brooch. With scratch number _4634.
