Description

  • platinum, emerald, diamond
The triangle-shaped pendant centering a modified hexagon-shaped step-cut emerald weighing approximately 3.55 carats, the later-added surmount set with a pear-shaped emerald weighing approximately 2.05 carats, accented by old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately 9.50 carats, suspended from a platinum chain, length 18¼ inches, the pendant indistinctly numbered 388 and 550; the pendant circa 1910.

Condition

In good condition. The emeralds are deep very slightly bluish green and they range in clarity from lightly to moderately included. Both the pear-shaped emerald and the hexagonal emerald exhibit minor abrasions to the facet junctions and minor surface reaching fractures. The diamonds are approximately VS-SI clarity. The pendant loop looks like it may have been modified or repaired and at least two of the dangling, bezel-set diamonds look like they have been repaired or reattached. The chain is of later addition. Also accompanied by an appraisal by The "American Board of Certified Gemologists" stating that the "octagon" emerald (actually a hexagon) weighs 3.74 carats and the pear-shaped emerald weighs 2.80 carats. Accompanied by GIA report no. 1122694975 stating that the emerald is natural beryl, with indications of minor clarity enhancement.

Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
