Description
- platinum, jade, onyx, diamond
The jade pendant measuring approximately 50.0 by 30.0 by 4.5 mm, carved with floral motifs, suspended from a necklace composed of 266 jade beads measuring approximately 9.2 to 4.2 mm, accented by single-cut diamonds weighing approximately .40 carat and calibré-cut onyx, length 34 inches, signed Cartier London, with indistinct numbering.
Condition
In good condition. The jade beads are semi-translucent medium green with lighter and darker veining. The semi-translucent jade pendant is medium green with areas of darker mottling, it is carved with floral motifs on the front and the back. The necklace was previously sold at Sotheby's in New York on December 10, 1986 (lot 70) but it appears to have been modified since. The 14 Karat white gold clasp is later added and the onyx and diamond motif at the front has been soldered shut and no longer functions as a clasp. The onyx remains intact. The diamonds are approximately H-J color, VS-SI clarity. Please note that although the necklace is signed Cartier London and numbered, possibly 00337, the piece is not by Cartier.
