The fan-shaped top supporting a pear-shaped pendant, spaced by a bow, set with two white natural pearls measuring approximately 9.9 by 10.1 mm and 7.7 by 6.3 mm, with one gray button-shaped natural pearl measuring approximately 9.4 by 7.9 mm, accented by 15 additional pearls of various hues measuring approximately 9.6 to 4.7 mm, further set with old mine and rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 6.00 carats, with French assay and workshop marks; circa 1870.
Condition
In good condition consistent with age. The pearls have varying bodycolors including gold, creamy white, silvery white and purplish-gray. Most of the pearls exhibit soft rose and green overtones, although the purplish-gray pearl exhibits soft aubergine overtones. The pearls also range in shape from round, to button-shaped to slightly baroque. They exhibit fair to good luster and minimal blemishing. The purplish-gray pearl has slightly wrinkled skin consistent with its baroque shape. The diamonds are approximately I-K color, SI-I clarity. The silver-topped gold exhibits tarnish consistent with age. Approximately 4 inches long. Accompanied by GIA report no. 2173318056 stating that three pearls tested at random are of natural, saltwater origin.
