Designed as a perched owl, the eyes and torso set with variously-cut sapphires weighing 6.67 carats, accented by cabochon moonstones weighing 5.82 carats, further set with round diamonds weighing 2.95 carats, signed MdV, numbered 11514.
Condition
In good condition. The variously-cut sapphires are a medium to medium-deep slightly violetish blue, with the eyes of the owl slightly more saturated in color, all slightly included. The semi-translucent to translucent cabochon moonstones are eye-clean to slightly included and presenting a light violet blue adularescence. The diamonds are approximately G-H color, predominantly VS clarity. Signed and numbered on the reverse of the brooch. Dimensions approximately 2 1/4 by 1 1/4 inches.
