Description
- platinum, sapphire, diamond
Centering a sugarloaf cabochon sapphire weighing 25.23 carats, flanked by trapeze-shaped diamonds weighing 2.07 carats, size 6½.
Condition
In good condition with one side of the shank very slightly bent, but this does not affect the ring size. The sugarloaf cabochon sapphire is a richly saturated medium-deep very slightly violetish blue, heavily included mainly due to a group of significant and sizeable surface-reaching inclusions located in one quadrant of the stone along with other inclusions and fractures; however this does not affect the translucency of the sapphire. Stamped '25.23' on the inner shank. Accompanied by Gübelin report no. 12105149 stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Together with a note on the quality and rarity of this sapphire. Accompanied by GRS report no. GRS2008-42202 stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with no indications of thermal treatment. Accompanied by C. Dunaigre report no. CDC 1401083 stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
