The necklace centering an old European-cut diamond weighing approximately 3.30 carats, framed and supported by smaller old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately 13.30 carats, length 15 inches; supporting a pendant-brooch centered by a cabochon star sapphire measuring approximately 20.5 by 18.2 by 12.2 mm, framed by round diamonds weighing approximately 4.95 carats, signed Howard & Co.; pendant detachable; circa 1915.

Condition

In very good condition especially considering the piece's age, with some minor wear, scratching and patina throughout, not evident when worn. The star sapphire is a medium-light violetish blue and heavily included notably with two large chips to the back, not visible when worn, displaying fair asterism but with wavy rays. Weight of sapphire approximately 30.00 carats. The large center old European-cut diamond is approximately H-I color, I clarity. The remainder of the diamonds range from approximately G-K color, predominantly VS-SI clarity. Length of chain approximately 15 inches. Pendant is detachable and arranged with a pin for wear as a brooch, necklace fitted with a pendant loop. Signed on the reverse of the pendant-brooch. Necklace fitted with a safety clasp. Signed Howard & Co. on pin clutch.
