Not viewed out of the frame. The card appears to be fully laid down onto the Artist's backing board. The card and board both appear sound. The lower edges of the card are very slightly scuffed. The edges and surface of the board are uneven and pitted in places, thought to be inkeeping with the artist's working method. There are one or two specks of studio detritus apparent to the card. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is float mounted onto a fabric-covered backing board, and housed within a simple painted wooden frame with a gilt face, held under glass.
