Condition
Original canvas. The canvas undulates very slightly at the corners, but otherwise appears sound. There is a pinhole at each of the lower corners. There are some fine scattered lines of reticulation in places. There is an extremely fine line of craquelure to the dark grey pigment in the upper left of the work. There is some slight rubbing at the centre of the lower horizontal edge, thought to be as a result of frame abrasion. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching.
The work is presented in a painted wooden frame with a linen slip, held under glass.
