Condition
This photograph, printed with thin margins on double-weight Agfa paper with a semi-glossy surface, is in generally excellent condition. An extremely soft, crescent-shaped handling crease is barely visible in the upper left quadrant, discernible only under very high raking light. The upper margin corners are lightly bumped.
On the reverse are the following notations in an unidentified hand in pencil: 'Américains,' '4804-I' (twice), 'RF.A.048.2,' 'B 48,' '40' (circled), and 'B25.'
As of this writing, it is believed that only one other print of this image has previously been offered at auction.

"What moved me was that, against the background of that hideous city hall, there was the little vase with a flower. The combination of that city hall, that big gray block of cement and those recurring images of gas stations and the flower. . ." Robert Fran🗹k
