Description

  • width of tray 34cm, 13 1/2 in.
the surfaces enamelled with shaded scrolling stylised foliage on varicoloured grounds divided by ropetwist borders, one stamp box lid with champlevé blue and red enamel 5 kopek stamps, the cartouche-form tray centred with a mythical beast, rear bracket supports, 84 standard; with associated blotter, apparently unmarked; paper knife, Moscow, 1908-1917, French import mark; quill, illegible kokoshnik mark, French import mark; and a modern inkwell

Condition

Excellent condition. The tip of the paper knife very slightly misshapen. The stands with losses to the enamel around at the bottom. The gilding worn, in places to the silver.
