Description

  • gilt bronze
seated in dhyanasana on a rectangular pedestal base, cast with a vajra to the front, the left hand supporting a bowl, the right in bhumisparsamudra, the serene face beneath tight curls covering the ushnisha, surmounted by a jewel, all resting on a waisted stand decorated on three sides with pairs of snowlions flanking the three jewels, fitted with a mandorla worked with foliate scrolls

Condition

Figure and throne separately cast. Both with scattered areas of accretion and surface abrasions throughout. Both bearing stickers "From the Nils Nessin Collection" and labeled "01891-181" at reverse. Baseplates in tact but likely not original.
