Condition
Overall in very good condition. The surface of the piece has a wonderful patina throughout. The pewter is in good condition, with minor surface abrasions and a few shallow scratches from gentle handling. With occasional minor polishing residue to the recessed portions of the design. The copper dial with minor surface wear and minute areas of oxidation, consistent with age. The Roman numbers are enameled in a deep blue adding to the elegance of the overall design. The enamel of the dial presents with a few minute losses adjacent to each of the pins and at the center where the handles are attached. The red lower portion of the clockface with a minute inclusion to the enamel, visible in the catalogue illustration and original. The hands present with a wonderful martele treatment. Each of the three enamel decorative elements to the lower portion of the body appear to have been sensitively restored in a color and manner that is consistent with the dial. The movement is not guaranteed to run at the time of cataloging and was not tested for accuracy of time and may need service at the buyers discretion. A wonderful work by Knox of deeply sculptural design.
