Condition

Overall in good condition. The colors of the enamel are darker and more saturated in hue when viewed in person than in the catalogue illustration, especially the red which is a more garnet tone. The architectural silhouette of the clock is enhanced by the two different treatments of the pewter. Each of the interior inset panels is patinated and with a martele surface. The pewter has wear, rubbing and surface scratches to the smooth pewter surface throughout, visible in the catalogue illustration. The recessed portions of the design with minor evidence of oxidation. There is a minor irregularity to the patina to the proper left face of the clock, adjacent to the decoration which is possibly original. The enamel is in good condition, with a few pinhead size losses scattered around the outside perimeter. The martele brass hands are in very good condition. One fastening pin missing to the proper right side of the dial, visible in the catalogue illustration. With a key. The movement is not guaranteed to run at the time of cataloging and was not tested for accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer’s discretion. A charming clock displaying a detailed architectonic form with wonderful presence.
