Condition
Overall good condition. An elegant model with a lovely silhouette indicative of works by Knox. The pewter with a few very minor and scattered surface scratches, light wear and minor surface dirt to the martele surface, consistent with age and gentle use. A minute abrasion to the inside edge of the body, adjacent to the clock face. There is minor rubbing and light abrasions to the underside of the clock and some minor oxidation to the surface of the feet. The door on the reverse with signs of rubbing and some discoloration, consistent with age and gentle use. The clock retains its original glass face with minor wear to the perimeter of the brass cover. The clock hands are ever so slightly bent and one arm with evidence of resoldering where it attached at the center. The copper face with a few light scratches and minor wear. The enamel appears original and undisturbed. The movement impressed MADE IN FRANCE and is likely original. Movement is not guaranteed to run at the time of cataloging and was not tested for accuracy of time and may need service at the buyers discretion. The hinged door holding 1 key. A deeply sculptural form with a strong presence with viewed firsthand.
